Léa Mortier d'Aumont

For nearly 10 years, Léa Mortier d’Aumont has been supporting children and adolescents with sensitivity in their personal development. A professional art therapist, she now offers individual sessions for children aged 6 to 12 at D2, helping them strengthen their self-esteem, better manage their emotions, improve communication, cope with grief (loss of a person, pet, or a move), or resolve relational difficulties at school or within the family — all through the medium of art therapy.

According to the Association des art-thérapeutes du Québec (AATQ), art therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses artistic materials, the creative process, imagery, and dialogue to foster self-expression, self-awareness, and personal change.

Trilingual, Léa speaks fluent French and English, and has an A2.1 level in Spanish, which is considered functional (beginner-intermediate). Her therapeutic approach is rooted in Gestalt therapy, which emphasizes transformation in the present moment, along with a creative process-centered approach, focusing on the journey rather than the aesthetic outcome. Art therapy sessions are developed in close collaboration with parents, in a cooperative effort to best support the child’s growth. Coordination with a psychologist or other healthcare professionals can also enhance the therapeutic process.

Art therapy is a form of expression especially well-suited for children, who often communicate more effectively through images, symbols, or movement rather than words. In her practice, Léa incorporates play as an entry point to emotion, enjoyment, self-awareness, and creative development. This allows the child to explore their inner world, build confidence, and move toward personal fulfillment. The goal is to empower children to regain confidence in their strengths and abilities, and to restore physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
