Dr. Véronique Parent, D. Psy.

Véronique Parent is a clinical psychologist. She offers individual psychotherapy for school-age children, adolescents and young adults (8-21 years old). She also works with parents/caregivers to develop skills and strategies fostering youth and family functioning and resilience. Her clinical approach is informed by third-wave psychotherapies, including mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Véronique is also trained in behavioral interventions, such as exposure therapy, crisis intervention, and positive behavioral supports. She completed her training and has also practiced psychology in Québec, Ontario, and in Boston (Massachusetts, United States). She previously held clinical academic appointments with Harvard Medical School and Queen’s University, and worked as an advisor at the Direction of quality and development of practice of the OPQ. 

 

Véronique adopts a client-centered, culturally-informed and trauma-sensitive approach to her clinical work. She has worked with diverse populations and with various challenges which include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, emotion regulation, neurodevelopmental disorders (e. g., ADHD, ASD, intellectual disability), self-esteem, life transitions, interpersonal skills, parenting skills, stress management, perfectionism, oppositional behavior, impulsivity, as well as adjustment to various life events and medical conditions. She provides services in English and French.
